History
EXPOM S.A. was created in 1991 after privatization of the State Centre of Agricultural Machines (POM). POM's history dates back to 1952 when it was registered as a Community Centre for Agricultural Machines, a state enterprise providing repair services for agricultural machinery. EXPOM S.A. is a legal successor of the former State Centre of Agricultural Machines, as well as a follower, in the first period of activity, of its production profile. Since its transformation into a private company the enterprise underwent a phase of rapid development. This period witnessed a modernization of the machinery and technical equipment of the company, which enabled changing the production profile and entering into a long-term co-operation with leading manufacturing companies from the European Union. The company's strategy is based on management through quality. The ISO 9002 (now 9001) system was introduced in 1999.
An important feature in the EXPOM S.A. history is the production of wind power plants. The company gained its first experiences in this field almost 30 years ago. Over the years, the total of about 30 wind power plants were built. Since 1990 their construction works were abandoned, and after the privatization they were not restarted. Considering a new company development strategy, based among other on using unconventional energy sources, EXPOM S.A. intends to refresh these projects. The company's strategy for the coming years assumes concentration on the most promising sectors including renewable energy (biomass boilers, small wind power plants, hydro-electric power stations), gas-oil industry (unconventional gas sources - steel structures, tools and equipment for exploration and extraction of shale and jammed gas) and marine industry (cranes and crane components.)
